Mighty Balloon II

The “Mighty Balloon II,” was a public art piece I was commissioned to create for downtown Grinnell, IA. The entire pole and string were custom-fabricated out of steel; the balloon was created with foam and fiberglass. The ornate base was cast out of aluminum, and the top lantern is solar-powered so it shines bright light a diamond at night. This beauty is located in front of Grinnell's City Office building at 520 4th Avenue, Grinnell, IA 50112.
